What is Sending Reputation?
Sending reputation is an internal gauge based on your historical sending delivery and engagement patterns. It reflects how trustworthy your email activity appears to inbox providers – and ultimately impacts whether your emails land in the inbox or the spam folder.
To help build good sending reputation and protect all platform users, Enginemailer includes content review checkpoints. Apart from helping you build better reputation as your sending volume increases, this review also ensures your campaigns follow compliance standards like GDPR and CAN-SPAM, and do not violate our Acceptable Usage Policy.
Why Will Campaigns Go Under Review?
Campaigns may be flagged for content review if they meet certain risk indicators, such as:
-
New Account with No Sending History
New accounts are monitored to prevent potential misuse and help establish a strong sender reputation from day one. -
Unverified Sending Domain
Emails sent from unverified domains are more likely to be blocked or marked as suspicious. Verifying your domain builds credibility with email providers and improves deliverability. Learn how to verify your domain. -
Sudden Changes in Sending Behaviour
A sharp spike in sending volume compared to past activity can trigger review for security and deliverability checks. -
Poor Delivery Reports
High bounce rates or previous spam complaints may indicate problems with list quality or content.
This review protects all Enginemailer users from a compliance standpoint, detects spam triggers and harmful links – ensuring that your campaigns are safe, effective, and inbox-ready.
Content Review Threshold
All Enginemailer accounts are given a content review threshold. This threshold may increase or decrease over time based on your sending behaviour, campaign performance, and overall reputation.
- As you send more campaigns with good engagement and low complaints, this limit will gradually increase.
- If your campaign exceeds the threshold or meets review criteria, it will be queued for review and marked as “In Review” in your campaign dashboard. Our typical turnaround time is within 24 hours.
Important: If you need to send a larger volume right away, just reach out to our Customer Success team. Based on your expected email volume and delivery frequency, we’ll provide IP/domain warm-up recommendations as a value-added service – helping you scale confidently.
