Most of our email templates added the required special links into your email, for example: "Preview in Browser", "Unsubscribe" and even "Update Profile". These are useful for your recipients to control how they want to view and receive your email. If you start your campaign from blank, we recommend you to add one.
Merge tags are placeholders that are replaced with real values at the time the message is sent. When you add custom field to Enginemailer, they become available in our campaign editor via the "Merge tags" menu.
In this article, you'll learn how to add campaign Special Links and Merge tags to your content.
Add special links to your email
- Navigate to the Step 3 (Content) of the Campaign wizard.
- Place your text cursor where you wish to insert the special link.
- The floating toolbar will appear then click on Special links drop-down menu and choose the special link you want to insert.
- You can edit the text as needed.
- Done!
Add merge tags to your email
Use merge tags to personalise your message:-
- Navigate to the Step 3 (Content) of the Campaign wizard.
- Place your text cursor where you wish to insert the merge tags.
- The floating toolbar will appear then click Merge tags to choose the custom field you want to insert.
Important: A valid merge tag must begin and end with curly braces, i.e., {first_name}
- (Optional) You can also access to merge tags via the "@" shorthand.
- Done!
Note: If your merge tags happens to be a URL, then you need to insert it as a link then change the URL to the merge tag you want to use.
